Newer versions of Microsoft Edge come with a hidden preference/flag which can be enabled to add a new option in Microsoft Edge Settings page which can be turned off to completely disable suggestions in the address bar. If you are concerned about your privacy and want to disable suggestions taken from your favorites and history as well, here is a good news for you. But suggestions are still shown in the address bar taken from your favorites and history. It just stops sending typed data to search engine. But even if you disable the feature, Microsoft Edge still shows suggestions from your favorites (bookmarks) and browsing history. Interested users can disable the search and site suggestions based on typed characters using Microsoft Edge Settings. The browser also shows suggestions taken from your favorites websites and browsing history in the address bar as shown in following screenshot: ![]() ![]() When you start typing in Microsoft Edge address bar (or Omnibox), the browser starts showing typing suggestions (in a drop-down list) about related searches and websites by sending your typed characters to search engine used by the address bar.
